Oak is undoubtedly the world’s most popular wood species for parquet flooring. Its high Brinell and Janka hardness ratings, excellent mechanical properties, and richly distinctive grain all contribute to its widespread use in wood flooring. Another notable quality of oak is its exceptional ability to absorb stains and take on colour. This versatility allows Morfloor to offer approximately 20 colour families of oak parquet flooring within its product range.
Wood flooring can be expensive, particularly when installed throughout a large home. Oak parquet offers excellent value for money without compromising on quality. Compared with more exotic wood species such as maple, bubinga, and American walnut, oak flooring is considerably more affordable while offering comparable hardness. This makes oak an excellent choice for enhancing the appeal of your home without exceeding your budget. These qualities have made oak the most widely used wood species in parquet production.
Morfloor manufactures oak parquet flooring in both engineered and solid wood constructions, available in a variety of sizes.
Oak is one of the most durable and structurally stable wood species available on the market. Its natural resistance to fungal decay and insect attack helps protect oak parquet flooring from deterioration. With proper care and maintenance, oak flooring can be expected to last for 25 years or more. Even in areas exposed to heavy foot traffic, visible signs of wear tend to develop gradually.
Solid wood flooring is not always suitable for environments with high humidity or significant moisture fluctuations. For such applications, manufacturers often recommend engineered parquet flooring with a 100% genuine oak wear layer. This construction allows you to enjoy the timeless appearance of traditional oak in a wider range of environments.
From a technical perspective, wood hardness is commonly measured using the Janka hardness test. Oak has a Janka hardness rating of approximately 1,300 lbf, comparable to beech and considerably higher than walnut, which typically measures around 1,000 lbf. This reflects oak’s excellent resistance to indentation and everyday impact.
Oak is also highly regarded for its neutral, versatile appearance. Its natural tones make rooms with oak flooring easy to furnish and decorate, as the wood complements a wide range of interior styles. For those who prefer deeper, more c
Choosing a wood grade is choosing the voice oak will bring to your space. This is not simply a matter of classification, but of character: from the understated calm and purity of uniform surfaces to the bold expression of lively grain patterns and knots that celebrate the authenticity of nature.
We have reinterpreted oak through these carefully curated grades, allowing you to choose the very character and story your space calls for.
Unconventional and Magnificent
Beyond the boundaries of conventional grading, Brio tells a story of rugged texture and shimmering, scale-like grain. This wood finds its meaning not in linear order, but in the boldness of its form. A choice for spaces that express their authenticity through a refined spirit of nonconformity.
Patterns That Tell the Story of Time
A return to our roots. Deep, rich tones and distinctive patterns bear the marks of time, etched into the very grain of the wood. This grade reveals oak in its most vibrant, expressive form, where every knot and grain line is nature’s signature on an authenticity left untouched.
The Boldness of Nature
A striking contrast between light and dark gives the space a spirited, untamed character. Each tile reflects the magnificent contrasts found in nature—a choice for interiors that embrace identity and organic authenticity beyond the conventions of classical order.
The TAG Collection embodies Morfloor’s core principles, with a particular emphasis on minimising waste through efficient timber cutting. The Tempo, Rectus, and Altus collections are the result of this philosophy.
In the TAG Collection, we keep parquet tile dimensions as close as possible to the natural dimensions of the sawn timber. This approach honours the character of the wood while making the most efficient use of each piece.
Grandeur Brought to Life Through Movement
This grade is a play of light embraced by wood. Thanks to its distinctive cutting techniques, this oak possesses a unique visual dynamism: its appearance shifts with every step you take and every change in the angle of light, revealing new reflections and subtle variations in colour. It is as though the parquet surface is in constant dialogue with its surroundings.
A choice for spaces that seek a sense of grandeur that is dynamic, distinctive, and full of depth.
Visual Serenity
The purest expression of oak, where wood reaches its most refined and unadorned form. This grade is entirely free of knots and imperfections, revealing only a consistent grain and a subtle, understated colour. Together, they create a flawless surface for modern and minimalist interiors.
Prime is visual serenity at its most refined.
Since ancient times, oak has been regarded as a symbol of endurance: a tree that grows slowly, roots deeply, and records the passage of time in its very grain.
What you see in a space today is more than a wooden surface; it is the presence of something that has learned its dignity from time.
Nature’s beauty is defined by the irregularities inherent within it. The natural landscape is far less curated and selective than the world of design. The wood featured in the TAG Parquet Collection is, in the truest sense, a reflection of nature. TAG is created for those whose affinity with the natural world shapes their choices. From African padauk to Azerbaijani Oujamelch, every wood species used in these products is selected and manufactured in specific dimensions, in accordance with internationally recognised wood grading standards.
The TAG Collection also upholds Morfloor’s core principles, particularly the commitment to minimising waste through efficient timber cutting. The Tempo, Rectus, and Altus collections are the result of this philosophy. In TAG, parquet tile dimensions are kept as close as possible to the natural dimensions of the sawn timber.
We believe that every luxury product owes much of its distinction to the quality of its raw materials. With the TAG Collection, we pay the utmost respect to the essential element of parquet flooring itself: wood.
